Found Clint Southwell (clintonsouthwell(at)yahoo.com) July 26, 2007
Story:
Linn, I've been trying to locate a few old friends from the 81st CRS EWS Pod Shop for sometime, when out of the blue, I get an e-mail from Clint "Smoker" Southwell. It seems he was surfing the Bentwaters site, saw my posting and sent me a message.
That led to several side-aching hours of laughing on the phone talking about the "Good Old Days" in the Pod Shop.
Man, it's been 20 years yet it seems as fresh as last week.
Thanks for stirring the pot of memories.

Found David Winget (dwinget(at)btinternet.com) June 2007
Story:
Dave "Wingnut" Winget was my 3 man on a weapons load crew at "Crooked Creek" back in the early 80s. I had lost track of everyone I knew at Bentwaters save one person, Jim Crough from Job Control. I've been drowning in nostalgia these days and started poke'n 'round the net for info on the 81st and Bentwaters. Found this site....cruised the names....FOUND MY BRO! I've been in regular e-mail contact since.
UBER THANKS!

Found William D Tiley (billtiley(at)aol.com) Late July 07'
Story:
Saw his entry on the buddys page. E-mailed him and got his phone number and we talked for hours. We are planning on getting togather this Nov in Vegas to share old times and photos. We rode Triumph Motorcycles while at Woodbridge and we were Pres. and V Pres. of the Black Knights Motorcycle Club. The only person that I know of that smuggled a motorcycle in a dragchute box and shipped it to Tripoli, to have transportation while there on TDY... boy did we have fun!!!!! IN TIGERTOWN

Linn,

Have found two ole Bentwaters, 92 TFS flt.line troops. Got together in May of this year, in Mo. Had not seen them since 1966 when I left B/W.
On the left of pic is Bill Hester and Barbara Hester, then Betty Wommack, myself Joe Wommack, Judy Leblanc and Larry Leblanc.
Had a good time, of course, talked of times at Bentwaters.
Many thanks for your absolutely fantastic web, I go to it two/three times a week, always finding something I missed before.
Many, many thanks to you for your work
Best regards, Joe

2003
Story:
Frank PCS'd from Bentwaters around 1990 and we had lost touch after around 1993 when I split up from my husband (Sgt Timothy Allen) and moved house.
I suddenly received an email around 2003 when he had been looking on the website and saw my 2003 entry - we now email at least once a week and I update him on the rebuilding etc.
Would love to find any other 1980s Bentwaters pals whereever in the world

Thanks for your e-mail. Al Johnson may have already contacted you but I thought I’d let you know we have been in e-mail contact, exchanged photographs and had an hour-long conversation on the telephone. It’s so good to be in contact again with someone you enjoyed working with 30+ years ago. “Found Buddies” we definitely are!
Best wishes for now.

Many thanks for your help in locating Stella Sokolis.  She contacted me by email and we have also talked on the phone.  Hopefully, one of these days we will be able to get together.
I visit the Bentwaters site often.  I know that it takes a lot of your time, but for those of us who use, it is really appreciated.
Have a good day!
Al Johnson

Found no-one but in 1980...
Story:
I did not find a buddy. I did, however, find a cigarette lighter in the Brunswick Naval Air Station. The engraving on the back is: AIRMAN'S CLUB ALCONBURY ENGLAND CHRISTMAS 1966. Whoever owns this went to great length to repair it. If you'd like it back, I'd love to give it to you.

Found "Fast Eddie" Aaron Scott Olmstead (aaronolm(at)earthlink.net) 05-07-2007
Story:
Me! I am the Lost Buddy.

For a long time after getting out of the USAF, and melting back into the Civi life, I lost that person I used to be, totally forgot who I was, where I had been, and the wonderful experiences I had as an Airman in the United States Air Force. Things got kind of bleak there for a while. After finding this site, I started remembering the wonderful people and experiences I had encountered while being stationed in England, and began to recap my most favorable memories of my life. “The time I had spent at Woody's Base, and RAF Bentwaters”. I am glad that I came upon this site. I am Glad that I have found myself again... I Live back in the US Now… and little place outside of Boise Idaho.

I’d Love to get in touch with some of the people that shared RAF Bentwaters, and Woodbridge. Those were Grand Times.

Hi Linn
