FIGHTER PILOT; THE MEMOIRS OF LEGENDARY ACE ROBIN OLDS is being released on April 13th by St. Martin's Press. There is tremendous pre-publicity buzz and excitement ahead surrounding the publisher's plans for advertising.
Pre-orders are already available through several channels, with a few outlets competing with each other. When the book hits the bookstores in April, the cover price will be $26.99. Now Barnes & Noble has it on their site for $18.21. Borders Books is holding firm at just over $20. Amazon.com lists it for $17.81.
For all of you wondering about the audio CD advertised, the book is in the process of being recorded by a pro. It seems like he can channel George C. Scott and Robin Olds pretty well.
Needless to say, this is an exciting year ahead in many ways, and I have to learn how to pack a suitcase efficiently. I travel my with dad's worn out old carry-on that he decorated with a Triple Nickel patch. For the life of me, I can't figure out how he could be gone for two weeks at a time with just that bag - but then, Robin didn't need a hairdryer! I hope to see many of you on my travels across the country between April and November.
