GREEN GREEN GRASS
I was born at 210 Cemetery Road Ipswich Suffolk England. I married an American from the U.S.A.F base at Bentwaters. We met while I was home on leave from the Womens Royal Naval Service. I had taken my mum and aunt out to dinner at the Running Buck, a famous hang out for the U.S.A.F.personnel.

This American just started
to talk to us. While doing so, I heard all this
commotion of trays and dishes being slammed down. He asked
me for a date and then said he had to give his girl-friend
a ride home - it turned out she was our waitress!!
On arriving in America I was surprised to see how green everything was I thought it would be just one big desert with lots of cactus!! I had a hard time just looking at the houses. I just assumed all houses were made of brick.
To this day, I still shock a few people with my accent, even though Ray and I have been married and lived in the U.S.A. for over 30 years. I work as a cook, and it still strikes me funny, every time someone asks for the Worchestershire sauce.
