THE POOR BOY HAD ONLY BEEN IN ENGLAND 2 DAYS
Hello, my name is Nadine Hoy, (nee Bowen) and I am one of these notorious British wives. Chuck and I were set up by good friends in a most embarrassing way, at a squadron dinner. They placed us at each end of a long table and pressured him to ask me to dance. The poor boy had only been in England for 2 days, and he was terrified. He finally gathered up the courage to make his way over to ask me to dance as the band walked off the stage. What a way to begin a relationship.
But we did dance, and we are still dancing 30 years later. He said that night that I would be his wife and we would be together forever, and I told him he was a fruitcake. He is a wonderful man, puts up with me and my 5 horses, and 3 dogs 1 cat, 2 birds, and anything else that wanders in for a free meal.

We see Elk, bears, mountain lions, deer, eagles and bobcats and watching these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat is a thrill that you cannot explain. We live in a wonderful place and that bearded beast beside me is really an ex Airman. Chuck spent 21 yrs in the Air Force, and I loved it all, (except the 4 yrs in New York City) and then we had to decide where to live. He wanted to live in England, but I pushed to come back to Oregon because my 6 brothers just loved to drag him off to the pub at every opportunity, and I had horses to ride, and I needed someone to muck out the barns, so I made him come with me!
I was a picture framer for the Air Force, and I still work part time but out of my home. Chuck works for the Air Guard, in C.E. just like he did in the A.F. (I think these career men have Navy Blue blood) and we have a wonderful life here. We camp with our horses, Chuck fishes and hunts Elk and deer, and life is pretty awesome.
I became a US Citizen last June, after living here for 25 yrs. I decided if I was going to complain about our worthless "leaders" then I had better get into the position to do something about it, so this election...look out, I am on my way to vote for the first time. I was 25 yrs old when I came to the US and I have been here 25 yrs, and my friends now say I am "harf and haf". I also volunteer at the Humane Society, rescuing abused horses and livestock, so I stay pretty busy, but I guess my biggest challenge has been this long uphill fight, (and I have made a little headway in the 13 yrs we have lived here) I have finally taught them all how to make a decent cuppa tea. No more teabags in the microwave. Life is pretty great eh?
Best regards from the Nadine and the zoo.
