These photographs were all taken in the 1961-1964 period. The smaller pictures taken by Paul C Low and the larger ones (from the radar console down) were taken by a base photographer from Bentwaters.

SEASON's GREETINGS
from SANTA !
Airman 1st Class Paul C. Low plays the part of Father Christmas
for the orphans from the Eastward-Ho Orphanage, Stowmarket.

Right outside our site
on the Bildeston Road. Snow was every bit of 4 feet deep or more.

SAF Anglia ATCC with
the barracks in the background - mine was the corner unit closest
to the road.

Control "Ye Olde 2161st." On the left is the Administrative
and Dining room. On the right is Anglia Control Centre (note,
it has the English spelling).

Three civilian controllers
whose names I wish I could recall - they were great blokes
Lynn Richer at the
'scope in the Controllers position.
Don't know who is next to
him but he is taking information from Base ops.

Phil Knight at the
Ops Table - this is where all the information on aircraft was
sent - name, flight call sign, destination, type of aircraft,
expected time of return, etc. - all this information was put
onto a strip of paper and given to the Controller for whatever
airbase the plan was flying out of or into - tough job.
