Barracks at RAF Bentwaters in the 1960s
Pictures and captions contributed by Rick Billings

This was taken
in 1968, my mom knitted the sweater and sent it to me...
I still have
and wear it... this was taken beside barracks 755 of Bentwaters.

This is how the
barracks looked in November of 1998
Even if they were clean, lawn mowed etc etc; the look is a lot different
than when we were there. Each room has a private entrance now. No looooong hall way for the drunks to stumble up an down.
(These barracks have since been demolished - Linn Barringer)
From the front of the barracks toward the chow hall; made that trip plenty of times.

My room in barracks 755 after a "white collar inspection." Right after an inspection, probably in 67 or 68. Sure would hate to have to clean a room and make a bed like that again.

A piece of Billings
memorabilia - the 67-70 Coffee Cup.
