AGE area.
Just visible in the top is Wantisden Church.
The two white buildings are now dark green and are still there
today (29 October 2001 - Linn Barringer), the right of the two
is building 591 but the number plate is missing and is now in
someone's den! (some time later, 591 was dismantled and removed - Linn B.)

AGE area.
Taken a little to the left of the picture above.

Bill on the Hydraulics. Do you see the building that is directly above the hydraulic test stand? That is the old FMS paint shop where I had my old 1955 Hillman Husky painted by Parrot or Sam Paradise. :-) The day we were in there, we heard this propeller driven aircraft go over making one hell of a noise. We ran outside to see a Spitfire. It was a awesome sight.

with conventional buildings, which are still there now. [Linn Barringer,

The runway crossing is in this photo. They did not have the perimeter road in the early 1960's. A Voodoo came in and hit several cars waiting to cross the active runway around lunch time and killed several people. Tom Beal with the fire department responded to the crash.

F-101 Voodoo.
You can see the fuel tanks that allowed this aircraft to reach
Russia and beyond.
Not enough fuel to get back though!
