I worked in the 91st TFS, on R.A.F. Woodbridge from Oct. '91 to Apr. '92. Then, I worked out of hangar 74 from then until I left in May of '93, exactly one week after the last 2 A-10's left for Germany.

I was a crew chief while I was there (still am). The work I did in hangar 74 is as follows: as the A-10's were scheduled to depart the base, I was in a team of about 20 to 25 who would do a "transfer inspection" on them. It was basically an inspection to ensure the quality of the aircraft for it's next duty assignment. Sure do miss the time that I have spent there. That hangar hasn't changed much since I worked in it. I remember in the winter the holes in the building didn't keep out the chill very well! Memories are good though.
