Linn,
Photos for your Reunion Photo page.
The B&W photo was taken in Africa in 1956 and the color photo was at the Shepherds Grove 50's Reunion in Dayton in 2004. Same five friends 48 years later.

We just had a Woodbridge and Bentwaters mini-reunion in Atlanta 2 weeks ago. We had 12 former classmates from the early 70's and it was great because I had not seen some of them in 35 years.
Best regards,

I wrote that six of us from the 92nd were planning to attend the Phantom Convention at Holloman AFB last year, but it was cancelled and I'd try next year. Well it finally happened last Thursday. Attached is a pic of six of us along with Former 81st Wing Commander, Triple Ace and Living legend, Gen. Robin Olds. Unfortunately Phantom aircraft must have gotten taller in the past 30+ years and none of us felt spry enough to hop onto the wing to replicate the pic I sent from the old days. Actually only two of us are also in the original. I thought you might like to see how the years have treated us.
Thanks for keeping the site alive.
Best wishes
John Czarnota

A few ex-load crew members from the late 60s and early 70s at Bentwaters got together this summer (Aug 2003), had a few beers, swapped war stories and had a great time. Those attending were: Larry Bourke, Dean Burgstahler, John"Stick" Hoover, Steve "Rocky" Gunderson, Robert "Pops" McPartland, Ron Novak, Lewis "Roley" Poley, Gary Roberts, Jim Tiller, Ray "Zig" Zigler, Carol "Gene" Jeanneret, Richard Lawrence, Harry Nye, Paul Kuzinski & myself.
We put together a list of names of everybody we could remember from Bentwaters. If you're interested in the list of names or photos from the reunion, go to: http://www.bentwaters.eezway.com/
This is just a beginning. Hopefully the site will continue to grow. Once again, thanks for all you have done to keep Bentwaters alive.

ReunionReport - Shepherds Grove - 1955-1958 S/Sgt, 78th FBS, 81st Wing The Grovers from Shepherd's Grove held their first reunion October 4th thru 7th in Columbia S.C. Although we couldn't get a tour of Shaw AFB as we had hoped, due to Sept 11 events, everyone had a great time and enjoyed meeting "old" friends once again. It was almost as if we were still together at The Grove. Hope we can get together again soon. |

TFS - Reunion July 17, 1999.
I was stationed at RAF Woodbridge in the 79th TFS from January 1968 until they moved to Upper Heyford. I really had a good time over there. The people were very nice, even though we were rowdy teenagers. I made some life long friends of which I have been getting re-acquainted with over the Internet. Nine of us often meet to chat on the web, and we are looking for more. I have located 27 airmen of the 79th, mostly weapons load crew members. We have a list of 60 or so we are looking for. The 79th Tac Fighter Squadron Reunion for members who were at RAF Woodbridge from 1967 to 1970, and RAF Upper Heyford from 1970 to 1972 will be held in Denver, Colorado at the Holiday Inn Denver Southeast on the weekend of July 17th, 1999. We will visit the Rocky Mountain Air Museum at Lowry Air Force Base from 10:00am until 3:00pm on Saturday, and have a dinner and slide show Saturday from 7:00 until midnight. For detailed information and reservations, contact Mike Doss at battdaddy(a)hotmail.com. THEY DID IT!

Nelson Bishop - IRC Virtual Woodbridge Reunions Nothing beats a face to face reunion. But reunions are few and far between and its not always possible to attend. Whats the next best thing? A virtual reunion! Now, Through the magic of the Internet, you can chat live with your former classmates. All you need is a Java capable browser. Drop by the Woodbridge virtual reunion page for details. Hope to see you there! Weve been having some success with our IRC virtual reunions Every Thursday (weve had as many as 5 people at once :) Now there is a new Brat Chat page, it will be even easier for new people to join in the fun (downloading and installing an IRC client was quite a challenge for newbies). Woodbridge Virtual reunion info page at http://www.io.com/~nelson/virtreun.htm Cheers, Nelson (Please mention if you went to the VR from Linn Barringer's web site, thanks) |
