| September 2001 Bentwaters, Woodbridge, 1982 to 1993 I returned for a visit in September 2000 and though I was saddened by the state of the base, I was very pleased with the efforts of those who are working hard to preserve the memory and history of Bentwaters. The Radar Approach Control building where I worked, though gutted, looks as it did on the last day we were there. In fact, I worked with our maintenance troops to remove all the cabling before we shut the door on the final day. I was particularly surprised to see that the mural that my trainee did was still on the wall in our training room inside building 128. Keep up the good work and I hope to make another visit soon. I'd also like to hear from anyone who knew me while I was stationed there. |
