Most of the good buildings are being used either for offices or warehouses. Generally, the place is pretty run down and there are a lot of areas blocked off. The housing area is being used as council houses.   Although the guard let me into the base, he really did not want to.  I had to do some fast talking.  Its like there was some big secret out there, not just an industrial park. *

What I did see was the base in a total state of decay and getting worse.  It was hard remembering how it used to be.

It is being used by some type of shipping company.

* Linn Barringer notes:
Bob's experience with the gate guard is nothing like I have ever experienced, nor others who have visited before or since. Maybe it was just a hot boring day, or maybe Bob didn't contact the owners BEFORE trying to visit the base, and maybe Bob didn't realise that it is private property. See Planning Advice.
